Wrapping up their 21st season, the Singers on the Grand ensemble returns to East Lansing with a musical variety show at the Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd. in East Lansing on Saturday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m.
The "Wonder of Music!" concert will be filled with classic pop, jazz, and Broadway standards which include song medleys celebrating the music of Stevie Wonder and Duke Ellington as well as many other favorites like “Dancing Queen,” “It’s Only A Paper Moon,” “S’Wonderful,” and “Bugler’s Holiday.”
Katy Brandon McDonough and Charlie Martin direct the collaborative ensemble from Grand Ledge, and the performance will include a wide array of music through solos, duets, small groups and the close harmonies of the mixed ensemble accompanied by the talented Grand Band. This season is a special tribute to the group’s founder Libby Brandon, who helped choose much of the music before passing away in August last year.
Tickets for the “The Wonder of Music” show are $15 and can be purchased online at https://sotg.brownpapertickets.com, by calling 800-838-3006 or purchased at the door. For more information on the group, visit the Singers on the Grand page on Facebook.
