3/13-15 - Here’s the first of some probably-excessive promotion of my favorite old script, written over 20 years ago (and, oddly, more meaningful to me now, that it was when written) being revived at Starlight Dinner theatre for ONE WEEKEND ONLY March 13-14-15.
Lansing State Journal's review of the original production of "The Garage Sale" in 1996:
"Garage Sale is a remarkable mini-gem. It's just about perfect in everything - its writing, direction, performances and length...The action takes place on one table of a garage sale...Tuxedo Teddy has a lofty price tag and immaculate condition. He has spent most of his life on a shelf, encased in his original box. Rag Baby has lived big and shows it. She's a tattered mess, with great memories. These two manage to bond - quite literally, thanks to Zussman's clever ending. You could sum up the show in a cliche: It is better to have loved and lost (an arm, some stuffing, etc.) than to never have loved at all. Still, Garage Sale is more.
