3/19-29 - Vanya (Doak Bloss) and Sonia (Gini Larson) have spent their prime years caring for their now deceased parents in their family home. Now middle-aged, they are stuck in fading, if comfortable, lives of boredom and regret. Their lives are punctuated by moments of frenzied sibling bickering and the gloomy divinations of their cleaning lady (Colleen Bethea), who fancies herself the local seer. Meanwhile their self-involved sister Masha (Tanya Canaday Burnham), a glamorous movie star, has jet-setted around the world achieving fame and fortune. Then, unexpectedly, Masha comes home, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike (Devin Faught). Long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wacky costume parties, unwelcome financial plans, and unexpected attractions. The normally quiet household is thrown into utter upheaval as its residents and visitors, including a young would-be-actress and fan (Kylie Bisel), get swept up in an intoxicating mixture of lust, rivalry, regret, and the sudden possibility of escape.
